OvoTimer (“the app”) is an egg cooking timer for Android. This policy explains what data the app handles.
We do not collect personal data. OvoTimer has no user accounts and no servers of our own. The app shows ads, which are described below.
All app data stays on your device: timer settings and preferences, saved favorite presets, and cooking history. This data is deleted when you uninstall the app and is excluded from Android cloud backups.
Notifications and exact alarms are used solely to alert you when your timer finishes; vibration is used for the alarm. The app does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, or files.
To find and fix crashes, the app sends anonymous technical error reports to our error-tracking provider, Sentry (sentry.io). A report contains the technical details of the error, your device model, your Android version and the app version. It does not contain your IP address, any identifier that could identify you, or your app data such as favorites and cooking history. These reports are used only to fix faults in the app.
OvoTimer is free and is funded by ads served through Google AdMob. To show ads, Google may use your device's advertising ID and technical information such as your device model, language and approximate region. This is handled by Google, not by us: we never see who you are, and we never send Google your cooking history, favorites or timer settings. In the European Economic Area and the United Kingdom, a consent screen appears the first time you open the app; if you do not consent to personalised ads, you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your interests. The app does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
If this policy changes, the updated version will be published at this address with a new effective date.
